We are delighted to announce a series of informative talks that will be taking place at NYE in November. These talks are scheduled for both the Saturday and Sunday of the show and what's more they will be free to attend! *

Designer Marie Greene of Olive Knits and talented business women Hanna Lisa and Verena Cohrs, publishers of the fantastic new book Making Stories, will be delivering their talks in a dedicated state of the art lecture theatre. Read on for details of what to expect .......... Oh and did I mention that these talks are debuting at NYE? :)

Making Stories

Making Stories is an independent knitwear design publishing company based in Berlin and co-founded by Hanna Lisa Haferkamp and Verena Cohrs. At the end of 2016, Verena and Hanna Lisa embarked on a journey to create a new knitting book – a book that would combine sustainable European yarns with modern, minimalistic knitting patterns, enable knitters to expand their knowledge on their craft through multiple tutorials and dive deep into the world of knitting and yarn with interviews and articles. One year later, WOODS, the first book published by Making Stories, is making its festival debut at Nottingham Yarn Expo! Verena and Hanna Lisa will talk about how they got to do what they do today, what inspired WOODS and how the creative process of making a book from idea to print publication looked like, including a deeper look at the crowdfunding through which the wonderful knitting community helped them bring their first book to life. They’ll round out the talk with a little glimpse into the future and what lies in store for Making Stories in the next few months.
