Beginners Crochet: Afghan square Workshop with Sarah Hazell

Saturday 11th November, 1:00pm until 4:00pm

This workshop is suitable for those beginners who can already hold a crochet hook and know how to work a chain, treble and a slipstitch.

You will learn how to work the basic afghan motif as well as joining and changing colours successfully. There will be a chance to explore how arranging colours in different ways has an impact when joining motifs together.

As you become more confident there will move on to work a Mitred Granny. This combines working in the round and backwards and forwards in rows. It is a useful technique when you want to add a corner to your projects.

The third option is the Flower Granny. This provides an opportunity to translate a circular motif into the traditional afghan square.

I will also be showing you how to add a border to the squares and provide you with some tips on how to join squares successfully and finish your work professionally.

Please note: you will need a valid market place ticket for the day of the workshop.
